A Two-Day Itinerary for Mysore in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mysore Palace
    10 minutes (2.1 km) from Mysore Airport

    In the morning, explore the Mysore Palace, one of the most magnificent buildings in India. The palace has a unique blend of Hindu, Islamic, Gothic and Rajput styles of architecture and is a must-visit attraction of Mysore. In the afternoon, take a stroll in the Brindavan Gardens. Spread over 60 acres, the garden houses a botanical park, musical fountains and various other attractions. In the evening, visit the St. Philomena's Cathedral, a beautiful gothic-style church, and attend the sound and light show at the Mysore Palace.

  2. Day 2: Chamundi Hills
    15 minutes (4.5 km) from Mysore Palace

    In the morning, visit the Chamundi Hills, a popular pilgrimage site and a famous landmark of Mysore. Climb up the 1000 steps to reach the top of the hill and visit the Chamundeshwari Temple, which is dedicated to Goddess Durga. In the afternoon, visit the Mysore Zoo, which is home to a diverse range of animals, including tigers, lions, elephants, and giraffes. In the evening, take a walk in the Karanji Lake Nature Park, which is located adjacent to the zoo, and enjoy the nature and bird watching.

Other popular attractions that you should consider visiting are the Jaganmohan Palace Art Gallery and Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum. If you have some extra time, take a side trip to the nearby town of Srirangapatna, which is famous for the Ranganathaswamy Temple and the Dariya Daulat Palace.
