Exploring Udaipur in June 2024

  1. Day 1: City Palace
    10 minutes (3.3 km) from Udaipur railway station

    Start your day by visiting the City Palace, the most famous landmark of Udaipur. The palace complex is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, and houses several museums with an impressive collection of artifacts and paintings. The sprawling palace complex is divided into several courtyards and palaces, each with its unique architecture and history. In the afternoon, head to the Jagdish Temple located nearby, a beautiful 17th-century temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In the evening, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola to witness the stunning sunset view of the city palace and the surrounding hills.

  2. Day 2: Saheliyon Ki Bari & Sajjan Garh Palace

    Saheliyon ki Bari, also known as the Garden of Maidens, is a beautiful garden with fountains, lotus pools, and marble elephants. The garden was built for the women of the royal household to relax away from the hustle-bustle of the palace. In the afternoon, head to Sajjan Garh Palace, also known as the Monsoon Palace, located on the hilltop overlooking the city. The palace was built in the 19th century to watch the monsoon clouds and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Udaipur and its lakes. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show at Bagore Ki Haveli, a historic mansion turned into a museum showcasing Rajasthani culture.

Other places to visit in Udaipur are the Vintage Car Museum, the Gulab Bagh and Zoo, and the Shilpgram Crafts Village. For a side trip, visit the Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site, located 85 km from Udaipur.
