4-Day Varanasi City Experiences Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kashi Vishwanath Temple
    30 minutes (6.5 km) from Varanasi airport

    In the morning, pay a visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is an architectural marvel and is a must-see for anyone coming to Varanasi. In the afternoon, explore the surrounding markets for souvenirs and traditional crafts. In the evening, take a boat ride along the Ganges River and witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti.

  2. Day 2: Sarnath
    30 minutes (10 km) from Varanasi Cantt Railway Station

    In the morning, head over to Sarnath, the site where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. The site includes the ruins of several stupas and monasteries and is a peaceful and tranquil place to spend your morning. In the afternoon, visit the Sarnath Museum to learn about the history of the place. In the evening, return to Varanasi and enjoy some local street food.

It is believed that a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges at this Ghat helps attain Moksha (liberation from the cycle of birth and death). In the afternoon, visit the Bharat Mata Temple, the only temple dedicated to Mother India. In the evening, attend a classical music and dance performance at the famous Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts.
