Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Have an early dinner around Connaught Place—the inner and outer circles have plenty of casual options, with about ₹300–700 per person a sensible budget. Leave time to pick up water and train snacks before heading to Jantar Mantar, a short walk away. Allow roughly 45 minutes to see the instruments; check the current last-entry time before you go, as entry may close before the site’s stated closing time.
Continue to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib for a quieter pause and, if you wish, a visit to the community kitchen. It’s generally open around the clock, but allow 45–60 minutes for entry and a respectful visit. Cover your head, remove your shoes, and follow the signs and volunteers’ directions. Then take a cab or auto to New Delhi Railway Station; allow at least 30–45 minutes for the ride in evening traffic, plus extra time to find your coach and board. Check the current timetable and book a service that reaches Dehradun early enough for the onward transfer to Mussoorie; don’t assume a particular overnight train is running at a convenient time.
After reaching Mussoorie, allow about 1.5–2 hours for the uphill transfer and a little time to drop your bags at your Airbnb. Head to George Everest House at Park Estate once you’re settled; the approach and hike to the viewpoint and back take around 3–4 hours at a steady pace. Wear shoes with good grip, carry water and snacks, and check locally for current access or parking charges. The path is exposed in places, so take your time and avoid setting out late if the weather looks unsettled.
From Park Estate, take a taxi back towards Landour for a late lunch or tea at Char Dukan. It’s a relaxed place to refuel after the walk; simple café food is usually around ₹200–500 per person. Then wander the quieter lanes to St. Paul’s Church—allow 30–45 minutes, but access can depend on services or local arrangements, so check before counting on going inside.
Finish at Landour Bakehouse for coffee and something baked (budget roughly ₹300–600 per person), then take a taxi back to your Mussoorie Airbnb. Check the bakehouse’s current hours before setting off, especially if your trek runs long; keep the church visit and lane wander flexible so you’re not rushing the day’s final stop.
Once you’re down in Dehradun, head to Robber’s Cave in Anarwala first, while you have daylight for the stream-carved gorge. Allow 1.5–2 hours, plus time for the drive from town; local taxis are the simplest option, and you can ask the driver to wait or arrange a pickup time. Entry is usually inexpensive, but check locally for the current fee. Wear shoes with good grip: the rocks are slippery, and water levels can change, so don’t wade in if conditions look unsafe.
Take a taxi across town to the Forest Research Institute; allow around 1.5–2 hours to see the grand colonial-era campus and, if open, its museums. Museum access and hours can vary, so check before setting out rather than counting on entry. From there, go to Indira Market near Paltan Bazaar for a browse and a quick meal. Budget about 1–1.5 hours and ₹200–500 per person; the lanes are busy, so keep bags close and leave a little time to find your onward transport.
This is a full day out, and getting to Delhi by the morning of the 13th isn’t realistic if you’re keeping all three Dehradun stops after leaving on the 11th. To do the visit without rushing, plan to return later on the 13th or add a night. For Delhi, compare a train from Dehradun Railway Station—allow roughly 5–6 hours door to door including station transfers and boarding time—with the road journey, around 5–7 hours before any traffic delays. Build in a generous buffer and confirm your ticket and departure details before you head to the station or bus pickup.
