2-Day Itinerary for Munnar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Mattupetty Dam
    30 minutes (9.5 km) from Munnar town

    Start your day by visiting the Mattupetty Dam, a popular tourist spot built to conserve water for hydroelectricity. Take a boat ride on the dam's picturesque lake, surrounded by lush green hills. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Kundala Lake and enjoy a picnic with your loved ones. In the evening, head to the Echo Point, one of the must-visit places in Munnar, famous for its natural echo phenomenon.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park
    30 minutes (10 km) from Munnar town

    Start your day early and head to Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Enjoy a scenic trek in the park, and take in the breathtaking views of the Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in South India. In the afternoon, visit the Tea Museum to learn about the history of tea production in Munnar. In the evening, head to the Pothamedu viewpoint, overlooking the valley and tea plantations.
