2-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Bangkok in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Grand Palace
    15 minutes (3.7 km) from central Bangkok

    Welcome to Bangkok, start your day by visiting the famous Grand Palace complex. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782 and is a great example of traditional Thai architecture. In the morning, explore the palace grounds and visit the Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. After lunch, take a short walk to the nearby Wat Pho, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. This is one of the oldest and largest temples in Bangkok and houses a 46-meter long reclining Buddha statue. In the evening, take a leisurely boat ride along the Chao Phraya River and enjoy the city's stunning skyline.

  2. Day 2: Chatuchak Weekend Market
    30 minutes (10.6 km) from central Bangkok

    Start your day early and head to the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest markets in the world. With over 15,000 stalls selling everything from clothing to antiques, this market is a shoppers paradise. Spend the morning exploring the market and trying some of the local street food. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Children's Discovery Museum, a fun and educational experience for the whole family. End your day with a visit to the Siam Niramit cultural show, which showcases Thai culture and history through dance and music.

If you have some extra time, consider visiting the Jim Thompson House, a museum dedicated to the famous American silk merchant.
