7-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Vaishno Devi in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrival in Jammu

    In the morning, start the trek to Vaishno Devi Temple. The first stop is Adhkuwari, which is believed to be the place where Goddess Vaishno Devi meditated for nine months. Have lunch on the way and spend the afternoon exploring the area. In the evening, attend the Aarti at Adhkuwari Temple.

  3. Day 3: Vaishno Devi Trek Day 2
    Trek to Bhawan (6.5 miles, 6 hours)

  4. Day 4: Bhairavnath Temple and Ardh Kuwari Cave

  5. Day 5: Sanjichhat and Himkoti
    From Bhawan to Sanjichhat (1.5 miles, 20 minutes), then to Himkoti (1.2 miles, 1 hour)

    In the morning, take the cable car from Bhawan to Sanjichhat and enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Visit the Bhairon Temple, which is a short walk from Sanjichhat. Have lunch and proceed to Himkoti, which is believed to be the place where Goddess Vaishno Devi quenched her thirst. In the evening, attend the Aarti at Vaishno Devi Temple.

  6. Day 6: Patnitop
    From Katra to Patnitop (35.8 miles, 2 hours)

    In the morning, leave for Patnitop, which is a scenic hill station known for its breathtaking views and adventure activities. Spend the day enjoying the natural beauty and adventure activities like paragliding, skiing (if available) or just relax and take in the surroundings. In the evening, return to Katra and rest.

  7. Day 7: Departure
    From Katra to Jammu Airport (34.4 miles, 1h 26m)

    In the morning, check out of your hotel and head to Jammu Airport for your departure flight. If time permits, you can visit the Raghunath Temple or the Amar Mahal Palace Museum.
