Nepal Family-Friendly Itinerary in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Kathmandu
    10 minutes (4.3 km) from Tribhuvan International Airport

    Visit the historic Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as Monkey Temple, to enjoy the stunning view of Kathmandu Valley. In the afternoon visit Kathmandu Durbar Square to experience the traditional royal palace of Nepal. Finish the day with a traditional Nepalese dinner.

  2. Day 2: Pokhara
    5 hours (204 km) from Kathmandu

    Take a morning flight to Pokhara to witness the beauty of Fewa Lake and the Annapurna mountain range. Take a boat ride in Fewa lake and hike to the World Peace Pagoda. Later, explore the International Mountain Museum to learn about the Himalayas and its mountaineering history.

  3. Day 3: Pokhara

    Start the day with a sunrise view of the Annapurna range from Sarangkot. Then, visit the Tibetan refugee camp to witness the traditional crafts and textiles. In the afternoon, explore the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, the second-largest cave in Nepal.

  4. Day 4: Chitwan National Park
    5 hours (155 km) from Pokhara

    Take a scenic drive to Chitwan National Park to experience the wilderness of Nepal. Take an elephant safari to spot tigers, leopards, and rhinos. In the evening, experience the Tharu cultural programme to witness the traditional art and dance of Tharu people.

  5. Day 5: Chitwan National Park

    Start the day with a nature walk to experience the flora and fauna of Chitwan National Park. Later, take a canoe ride in the Rapti river to spot aquatic animals like crocodiles and ghariyals. In the evening, relax with a traditional massage and enjoy dinner around a bonfire.

  6. Day 6: Lumbini
    5 hours (180 km) from Chitwan National Park

    Take a morning drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Visit the Maya Devi temple to see the exact spot where Buddha was born. Later, visit the Lumbini Crane Sanctuary to witness the endangered Sarus crane. In the evening, explore the World Peace Pagoda in Lumbini.

  7. Day 7: Kathmandu
    7 hours (277 km) from Lumbini

    Take a morning flight back to Kathmandu to visit the Pashupatinath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the holiest Hindu temples in the world. In the afternoon, visit the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world. End the day with a shopping spree in Thamel.

If you wish to extend your trip, consider visiting Nagarkot for a panoramic view of the Himalayas or Bhaktapur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a traditional Newari town. To maximize your fun, try paragliding in Pokhara or take a hot air balloon ride in Chitwan National Park.
