Relaxation Itinerary for 2 days in Mysore in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mysore Palace
    10 minutes (2.7 km) from Mysore Zoo

    In the morning, visit the iconic Mysore Palace and witness its mesmerizing architecture and grandeur. The palace was the residence of the Wodeyar dynasty and is now a museum that showcases the dynasty's history and culture. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Devaraja Market, where you'll find a sprawling array of fresh flowers, fruits, and handicrafts. You can also buy some of Mysore's famous silk sarees and other textiles. In the evening, head to the Karanji Lake, a serene bird sanctuary with a beautiful garden, a butterfly park, and boating facilities.

  2. Day 2: Chamundi Hill
    20 minutes (8.8 km) from Brindavan Gardens

    Start your day with a visit to the Chamundi Hill, which is home to the Chamundeshwari Temple. The temple is believed to be one of the 18 Shakti Peethas and is dedicated to the goddess Chamundeshwari. You can take the 1000 steps to the temple or drive up the winding road to reach the top. In the afternoon, visit the Brindavan Gardens, a beautiful garden built across the Kaveri River. The garden has terraced lawns, flower beds, and fountains that are illuminated in the evenings. You can also take a boat ride on the river. In the evening, head to the St. Philomena's Church, a neo-gothic style church that is one of the tallest churches in Asia.

You can take a side trip to the nearby Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of migratory birds. You can also take a day trip to the nearby hill station of Coorg and enjoy its scenic beauty and coffee plantations.
