5-Day Motorcycle Riding Itinerary in Nepal (December 2023)

  1. Day 1: Kathmandu
    0 minutes (0 miles) from Tribhuvan International Airport

    Start your adventure by exploring Kathmandu. In the morning, visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world. Grab lunch at one of the many local restaurants around the city. Afterward, head to the Pashupatinath Temple to witness cremation rituals. End your day at Thamel, a popular tourist hub, to enjoy some nightlife.

  2. Day 2: Pokhara
    204 km (127 miles) from Kathmandu (5-hour ride)

    Leave Kathmandu early in the morning for a scenic ride to Pokhara. Stop at Bandipur, a medieval town midway through the journey, to grab some lunch. Once in Pokhara, check out the World Peace Pagoda and Phewa Lake. Enjoy dinner and drinks at one of the many lakeside restaurants before hitting the bed.

  3. Day 3: Chitwan National Park
    147 km (91 miles) from Pokhara (4-hour ride)

    Get ready for an early morning ride to Chitwan National Park, one of the best places in Nepal for wildlife sightings. Go on a jungle safari to spot endangered species like the Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, and Asian elephant. In the evening, attend a traditional Tharu cultural show, followed by a delicious dinner.

  4. Day 4: Lumbini
    157 km (98 miles) from Chitwan National Park (4-hour ride)

    Start your morning with a visit to the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, Lumbini. Explore the Maya Devi Temple, Ashoka Pillar, and the Sacred Garden. In the afternoon, ride to Tilaurakot for a glimpse of the ancient Kapilvastu Kingdom. Return to Lumbini at night to witness the stunning Light of Asia fountain show.

  5. Day 5: Nagarkot
    315 km (196 miles) from Lumbini (7-hour ride)

    Leave early for a long ride to Nagarkot, a hill station near Kathmandu. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. Spend the day hiking, mountain biking, or relaxing at one of the many resorts. End your day with a stunning sunset and dinner with a view.
