3-Day North Goa Itinerary in September 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Church Heritage in Old Goa
    30 minutes (12 miles) from Dabolim Airport

    In the morning, visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Admire the Baroque architecture and the preserved remains of St. Francis Xavier. After lunch, head to Se Cathedral, the largest church in Asia. Spend the evening at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, known for its murals and paintings that depict the life of St. Francis of Assisi.

  2. Day 2: Beach-hopping in North Goa
    45 minutes (14 miles) from Old Goa

    Start your day at Baga Beach and enjoy some parasailing or jet skiing. Next, head to Calangute Beach, the busiest beach in Goa, for a dip in the Arabian Sea. Finally, watch the sunset at Anjuna Beach, famous for its Wednesday Flea Market. Spend the night partying at Curlies or Shiva Valley.

  3. Day 3: Visit the Forts of North Goa
    1 hour 15 minutes (20 miles) from Anjuna Beach

    In the morning, visit Fort Aguada and its lighthouse. Admire the panoramic view of the Arabian Sea and the Mandovi River. Next, head to Chapora Fort, famous for the Bollywood movie Dil Chahta Hai. Finally, visit Reis Magos Fort, which has been recently restored and converted into a cultural center. Spend your evening at the local markets in Panaji and enjoy some Goan cuisine.

Recommendations

If you have time, visit the Museum of Christian Art in Old Goa, which has a collection of paintings, sculptures, and precious objects. You can also take a side trip to Dudhsagar Falls, located on the border of Goa and Karnataka. To maximize your fun, rent a bike or a car to explore Goa at your own pace. Don't forget to try the local seafood and feni, a Goan liquor.
