2-Day Adventure Itinerary for Munnar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Eravikulam National Park
    30 minutes (12.5 miles) from Munnar

    Eravikulam National Park, located in the Idukki district, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Start your morning by taking a guided trek to the peak of Anamudi, the highest peak in South India. In the afternoon, explore the park's rolling hills and grasslands that are home to various species of flora and fauna such as the Atlas moth, Indian muntjac, and the Indian elephant. End your day by watching the beautiful sunset from the park.

  2. Day 2: Munnar Tea Museum
    10 minutes (3.5 miles) from Munnar

    Start your morning by visiting the Munnar Tea Museum, located in the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea. You can witness the process of tea manufacturing from the freshly plucked tea leaves. You can also learn about the history and origins of tea in India. In the afternoon, visit the Mattupetty Dam, located 13 km from Munnar. You can enjoy a boat ride on the dam and take a walk in the tea plantations. End your day by taking a jeep ride to Kolukkumalai, the highest tea plantation in the world, and catch the beautiful sunset with a cup of tea.

Make sure to visit the Top Station, located 32 km from Munnar, which provides a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. You can also visit the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, located 60 km from Munnar, and experience trekking and bird watching.
