3-Day Hyderabad Itinerary for July 2023

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    25 minutes (7.5 km) from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

    In the morning, visit the iconic Charminar, a 16th-century mosque and monument in the heart of Hyderabad. Climb to the top for panoramic views of the city. For lunch, head to the nearby Laad Bazaar to try some traditional Hyderabadi biryani. In the afternoon, explore the historical Chowmahalla Palace, a restored palace of the Nizams of Hyderabad. Finish the day with a visit to the Salar Jung Museum, one of the largest museums in India housing an impressive collection of art and artifacts.

  2. Day 2: Golconda Fort and Qutub Shahi Tombs
    30 minutes (13 km) from Charminar

    In the morning, drive to the majestic Golconda Fort, a former capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. Take a guided tour to learn about its history and architecture. Stop for lunch at the nearby Jewel of Nizam restaurant for some delicious Hyderabadi cuisine. In the afternoon, head to the Qutub Shahi Tombs, a complex of mausoleums built for the rulers of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. End the day with a visit to the Hussain Sagar Lake and Buddha Statue, a beautiful lake with a giant statue of Buddha in the center.

  3. Day 3: Ramoji Film City and Nehru Zoological Park
    45 minutes (30 km) from Golconda Fort

    In the morning, head to Ramoji Film City, the largest integrated film city in the world. Take a tour to see film sets, sound stages, and other film production facilities. Stop for lunch at one of the many restaurants within the film city. In the afternoon, visit the Nehru Zoological Park, one of the largest zoos in India. See a wide variety of animals including tigers, lions, elephants, and more. End the day with a sunset boat ride at the Lumbini Park.

Other local attractions to consider include the Falaknuma Palace, the Birla Mandir temple, and the Osman Sagar Lake. For a side trip, consider visiting the nearby city of Warangal to see the Thousand Pillar Temple and the Warangal Fort.
