Start your journey in Rome, the eternal city. A great way to explore Rome is by visiting the Colosseum where you can witness the greatest arena of ancient Rome. Other highlights include the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Vatican City.
Discover the remarkable renaissance art and architecture in the beautiful city of Florence. Visit the Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and explore the Uffizi Gallery.
We highly recommend taking a day trip to Pisa to see the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. This iconic landmark is not the only attraction in the city. Visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, which is home to the stunning Cathedral and the Baptistry.
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of big cities and head to the stunning Amalfi Coast. Enjoy the beautiful coastline and the charming towns of Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. Take a boat tour to discover Capri and its famous Blue Grotto.
Travel to Venice, the city of canals that will take your breath away. Take a walk around the Piazza San Marco, visit the Doge’s Palace and discover the surreal island of Burano.
As your final destination, visit the city of fashion and design, Milan. Don’t miss Cathedral of Santa Maria Nascente, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and the Last Supper painting by Leonardo da Vinci.
Enjoy breakfast in your hotel before heading to the airport for your flight back home.
Transportation between cities will be by train. We recommend buying the Eurail Italy Pass. It is valid for 3 to 10 days of train travel within a two-month period. It costs €148 for 3 days of travel for adults under 26, and €204 for adults over 26. Travel time and cost estimates included in itinerary are approximate and subject to change based on your mode of transportation.
For an even more relaxed tour of Italy, consider spending more time in fewer places. Venice and Florence alone can take up a week. If you have more time, add a few more days on the Amalfi Coast, or simply spend more time wandering and soaking in the Italian countryside. If you have less time, consider cutting Pisa out of the itinerary.
The primary international airport in Italy is Rome’s Fiumicino Airport (FCO), about 40 km southwest of the city center. Another option is Milan’s Malpensa Airport (MXP), which is 50 km northwest of the city center.
