Munnar 3-Day Itinerary for August 2023

  1. Day 1: Eravikulam National Park
    25 minutes (8.3 miles) from Munnar Town

    In the morning, visit the Eravikulam National Park, which is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, and enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way there. Afterward, head to the Tea Museum to learn about the history and production of tea in the region. In the evening, visit the Pothamedu Viewpoint to enjoy a spectacular sunset and panoramic views of the valley.

  2. Day 2: Mattupetty Dam
    30 minutes (12.5 miles) from Eravikulam National Park

    Start the day with a visit to the Mattupetty Dam, which offers scenic views of the lake and surrounding hills. You can also take a boat ride on the lake or go for a short hike in the nearby Shola forest. In the afternoon, head to the Kundala Dam and Lake for some more beautiful views and a picturesque picnic spot. End the day with a visit to the Tea Gardens to see the tea plantations up close and sample some tea.

  3. Day 3: Top Station
    2 hours (38 miles) from Kundala Dam and Lake

    On the last day, head to Top Station, which is the highest point on the Munnar-Kodaikanal road. Enjoy the scenic drive up the mountain, and then take a short hike to the viewpoint for stunning panoramic views of the Western Ghats. Afterward, visit the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary for a chance to spot some exotic wildlife, including elephants, leopards, and gaurs.
