3-Day Adventure Itinerary for Munnar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Eravikulam National Park
    30 minutes (10 miles) from Munnar town

    In the morning, visit the Eravikulam National Park, which is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Take a guided tour and hike along the trails to get a closer look at the beautiful landscapes and wildlife. For lunch, try the local Kerala cuisine at Sree Mahaveer Bhojanalaya. In the afternoon, head to the Tea Museum to learn about the history and production of tea in Munnar. End the day with a visit to the Kundala Lake for a relaxing boat ride.

  2. Day 2: Anamudi Peak and Mattupetty Dam
    1 hour (20 miles) from Munnar town

    Start the day early with a trek to Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in South India. The trek is rigorous and will take approximately 5-6 hours. For lunch, stop at the nearby restaurant Rapsy Restaurant for some delicious Indian cuisine. In the afternoon, visit the Mattupetty Dam, a popular picnic spot, where you can enjoy a boat ride or go for a leisure walk around the dam.   3. Day 3: Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
    2 hour 30 minutes (70 miles) from Munnar town

    Start early morning and head to the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including the endangered grizzled giant squirrel. Take a guided trek through the sanctuary to explore the various ecosystems within, including dry thorn forests, riparian forests, and shoals. For lunch, stop at the nearby restaurant, Chinnar Restaurant, for some delicious South Indian cuisine. In the evening, head back to Munnar and visit the Munnar Top Station for a stunning panoramic view of the Western Ghats. End the day with dinner at The Brew Room, a popular cafe with a cozy ambiance.
