Exploring Varanasi in 3 Days

  1. Day 1: Visit the Ghats
10 minutes (2.5 km) from the airport

Begin your day exploring the ghats of the holy city. Witness the morning rituals of devotees taking a dip in the Ganges at the Assi ghat. Stroll through the narrow lanes of Dashashwamedh ghat, and enjoy a boat ride to see the ghats from a different perspective. In the afternoon, take a visit to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, an important Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Shiva. End your day with the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony at the Dasaswamedh Ghat.

  2. Day 2: Explore Sarnath and Ramnagar Fort
30 minutes (13 km) from the city center

Today, visit the ancient city of Sarnath, the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Explore the Dhamek Stupa, the Chaukhandi Stupa and the Archaeological Museum, which houses the famous Ashoka Pillar. In the afternoon, visit the Ramnagar Fort, an 18th-century fort-palace situated on the eastern bank of the Ganges, built by Kashi Naresh Raja Balwant Singh. The fort houses a museum, which showcases the royal collection of vintage cars, old weaponry, and elephant saddles.

  3. Day 3: Discover the City’s Spiritual & Artistic Side

Explore the spiritual and artistic side of Varanasi, starting with a visit to the Tulsi Manas Temple, dedicated to Lord Rama. In the evening, experience the music and dance extravaganza at the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts.
