4-Day Honeymoon Itinerary in Bangkok

  1. Day 1: Wat Arun
20 minutes (6.4 km) from Suvarnabhumi Airport

Start your honeymoon by visiting one of the most famous landmarks in Bangkok, Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn. Take a boat ride across the Chao Phraya River, and admire the temple's stunning architecture, embellished with colorful glass and Chinese porcelain. In the morning, the temple is not too crowded, making it the perfect time to take some memorable photos. Afternoon, we recommend visiting the nearby Museum of Siam, to learn more about Thai history and culture. In the evening, head to the Asiatique Night Market, where you can shop for souvenirs and enjoy local street food.

  2. Day 2: Chatuchak Weekend Market
30 minutes (10.7 km) from Wat Arun

Start your day early and head to Chatuchak Weekend Market, the biggest market in Thailand, with over 15,000 stalls. You can find just about everything here, from clothing to vintage items, antiques, and fresh produce. In the afternoon, visit the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The palace is the former residence of the Thai royal family and showcases intricate Thai architecture. In the evening, go for a romantic dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya River, where you can enjoy delicious Thai food and live music.

  3. Day 3: Ayutthaya
1 hour 30 minutes (80 km) from Chatuchak Weekend Market

Spend a day exploring the ancient city of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rent a bike and cycle through the old capital, visiting the ruins of temples and palaces, including Wat Mahatat, Wat Ratchaburana, and Wat Phra Si Sanphet. In the afternoon, take a boat ride and explore the city's canals, also known as the Venice of the East. In the evening, head back to Bangkok and relax at one of the many rooftop bars, enjoying a panoramic view of the city.

  4. Day 4: Jim Thompson House
20 minutes (6 km) from Wat Phra Kaew

On your last day, visit the Jim Thompson House, a beautiful teakwood house that showcases a collection of traditional Thai art. In the morning, take a private cooking class and learn how to make some of Thailand's most famous dishes, including Pad Thai and Tom Yum Goong. In the afternoon, visit the Art in Paradise Museum, a 3D art museum where you can take fun and unique photos. In the evening, visit the Khao San Road, a vibrant street known for its nightlife and backpacker scene.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, we recommend visiting the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, located 1.5 hours from Bangkok. Here, you can experience the local way of life and shop for fresh produce and souvenirs. Another day trip we recommend is visiting the Maeklong Railway Market, where vendors sell their goods on the train tracks. For a romantic and relaxing experience, book a couple's spa treatment at one of the many luxury spas in Bangkok.

To maximize your fun in Bangkok, we recommend getting an early start each day and using public transportation or hiring a private driver to avoid traffic.
