Discover Hyderabad in 3 Days

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    20 minutes (5.2 km) from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

    Charminar is the iconic landmark of Hyderabad. The monument was built in 1591 to commemorate the end of the plague. In the morning, explore the bustling streets around Charminar, where you can find street food vendors, jewelry shops, and traditional clothing stores. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Chowmahalla Palace, which was the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty. The palace consists of four palaces, each with its own courtyard. In the evening, head to the Laad Bazaar, where you can buy bangles, perfumes, and traditional handicrafts.

  2. Day 2: Golconda Fort
    30 minutes (11 km) from Charminar

    In the morning, head to the Golconda Fort, which was built in the 16th century. The fort is known for its acoustics, which allows sounds to be heard from a kilometer away. In the afternoon, visit the Qutb Shahi Tombs, which were built for the Qutb Shahi dynasty. The tombs are set in beautiful gardens and are a great place to relax and escape the heat. In the evening, head to the Hussain Sagar Lake, which is a man-made lake that was built in 1562. You can take a boat ride to the Buddha Statue located in the middle of the lake.

  3. Day 3: Salar Jung Museum
    30 minutes (10 km) from Hussain Sagar Lake

    In the morning, visit the Salar Jung Museum, which is one of the three national museums in India. It has a collection of over 43,000 art objects from all over the world. In the afternoon, head to the Ramoji Film City, which is the largest film studio in the world. You can take a studio tour or enjoy some of the amusement park rides. In the evening, visit the Taramati Baradari, which is a 17th-century music hall. The hall is located on a hill and offers a great view of the city.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the following attractions: Birla Mandir, Nehru Zoological Park, or the Srisailam Dam. For day trips, you could visit the historic city of Warangal or the ancient ruins of Hampi. Make sure to try some of the local cuisine, such as biryani, haleem, and kebabs.
