2-Day Hyderabad City Experience

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    30 minutes (6.2 miles) from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

    Charminar, built in 1591, is a globally recognized symbol of Hyderabad. The morning will be the best time to visit this monument and it is open from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM (closed on Friday). The surrounding Laad Bazaar is a shopper's paradise that sells traditional bangles, pearls, and clothing. For lunch, head to the nearby Shadab Hotel, a 10-minute walk from Charminar, which serves delicious biryanis and kebabs. In the afternoon, visit the Salar Jung Museum, which houses one of the largest private collections of art and antiques in the world. The museum is open from 10 AM to 5 PM and is closed on Friday. For dinner, head to Paradise Restaurant in Secunderabad, a 30-minute drive that serves the most famous biryani in the city.

  2. Day 2: Golconda Fort and Qutub Shahi Tombs
    20 minutes (5.6 miles) from Banjara Hills

    The morning of Day 2 will begin with a visit to Golconda Fort, an architectural marvel from the Qutub Shahi dynasty that ruled Hyderabad. It is open from 9 AM to 5:30 PM and is closed on Monday. Take a stroll in the gardens around the fort, relax in the open air theatre or climb to the top for a breathtaking view of Hyderabad. For lunch, head to Shah Ghouse Cafe and Restaurant, which is a 20-minute drive from Golconda Fort and serves some of the best haleem in the city. In the afternoon, visit the Qutub Shahi Tombs, a collection of mausoleums of the Qutub Shahi dynasty rulers. The tombs are open from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM and are closed on Friday. For dinner, head to Chutneys, a restaurant in Banjara Hills that serves a variety of dosas.

If you want to experience the nightlife in Hyderabad, head to Jubilee Hills, which is filled with pubs and lounges. For day trips, visit Ramoji Film City, the largest integrated film city in the world. You can also visit the Hussain Sagar Lake, a beautiful lake that is surrounded by parks and offers boating facilities.
