2-Day Nature Itinerary in Munnar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mattupetty Dam

Take a walk through the lush green tea gardens and enjoy the scenic views of the dam, which is surrounded by dense forests and rolling hills. You can also enjoy boating on the serene waters of the dam. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Echo Point, which is just a 15-minute drive from Mattupetty Dam. Echo Point gets its name from the natural echo phenomenon that occurs here. You can shout out your name and hear it echo back! In the evening, visit the Tea Museum located nearby where you can learn about the tea-making process and enjoy a fresh cup of tea.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park
    1 hour (16.7 km) from Munnar

    Start day 2 with a visit to the Eravikulam National Park. Home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, this park is a must-visit for nature lovers. Take a walk through the park's stunning landscapes and enjoy the lush greenery and breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. Afternoon, head to the nearby Anamudi Peak, which is the highest peak in South India. You can trek to the top of the peak, but it requires prior permission from the forest department. In the evening, visit the Pothamedu View Point, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and the Muthirapuzha River. You can also take a leisurely walk through the tea gardens here.
