3-Day Itinerary for Munnar in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit Mattupetty Dam
    15 minutes (8.3 km) from Munnar City Center

    In the morning, visit the Mattupetty Dam, a popular picnic spot located near the Anamudi peak. The dam is surrounded by rolling hills, tea plantations, and a calm lake where you can enjoy a boat ride.   2. Day 2: Explore Eravikulam National Park
    25 minutes (11 km) from Munnar City Center

    Start the day by visiting the Eravikulam National Park, famous for the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. You can take a guided trek through the park and witness a range of flora and fauna. After that, visit the Rose Garden, a beautiful garden with different varieties of roses and other flowers. Spend the evening at the Pothamedu Viewpoint, which offers a breathtaking view of the valley and the sunset.

  3. Day 3: Visit Top Station and Echo Point
    1 hour 15 minutes (33 km) from Munnar City Center

    Drive to the Top Station, the highest point in Munnar, located on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Western Ghats and the valley covered with mist. After that, visit Echo Point, a scenic spot known for its natural echo phenomenon. Spend the evening at the Tea Garden, surrounded by greenery and scenic beauty. You can also go for a nature walk or cycling in the tea gardens.

    In addition to the above itinerary, you can consider visiting the Attukad Waterfalls, Devikulam, and Kolukkumalai, a tea estate located at an altitude of 7,130 ft.
