3-Day City Experiences Itinerary in Hyderabad in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    20 minutes (6.5 km) from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

    Start your day by exploring one of Hyderabad's most iconic landmarks, the Charminar. This magnificent monument has four minarets and was built in 1591 by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah to commemorate the end of the plague in the city. Take a stroll around the surrounding markets, known as Laad Bazaar, and shop for bangles and traditional clothing. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Chowmahalla Palace, which was the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty and is now a museum. In the evening, head to the Golconda Fort to enjoy the Sound and Light Show that narrates the history of the fort and Hyderabad city.

  2. Day 2: Salar Jung Museum
    25 minutes (8.5 km) from Charminar

    In the morning, head to the Salar Jung Museum, one of the largest museums in the world and home to an impressive collection of art, textiles, and artifacts from around the world. Spend the afternoon exploring the nearby historic district of Old Hyderabad and visit some of the city's oldest buildings, including the Paigah Tombs. In the evening, unwind with a stroll around the picturesque Hussain Sagar Lake.

  3. Day 3: Ramoji Film City
    35 minutes (28 km) from Salar Jung Museum

    On your last day in Hyderabad, head to Ramoji Film City, the largest integrated film city in the world. The sprawling complex features over 2000 acres of film sets, theme parks, and other attractions. You can take a guided tour of the sets and studios, enjoy a live stunt show, and sample some of the city's best street food. In the evening, head back to the city and explore the Banjara Hills neighborhood, which is home to some of the city's best restaurants and nightlife.

If you have more time in Hyderabad, consider visiting the Qutub Shahi Tombs, the Falaknuma Palace, and the Nehru Zoological Park. For a day trip, head to the ancient city of Warangal, which is home to some of the state's most important historic sites.
