Munnar Family-Friendly 3-Day Itinerary - August 2023

  1. Day 1: Mattupetty Dam
    30 minutes (9.6 km) from Munnar

    In the morning, visit Mattupetty Dam, a popular tourist spot that offers scenic views of the surrounding hills and tea plantations. You can take a boat ride in the lake or go for a short hike. In the afternoon, have lunch at one of the nearby restaurants and then head to the Tea Museum, which showcases the history and production of tea in the region. In the evening, visit the Munnar Market to pick up souvenirs and try some local snacks.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park
    45 minutes (15.7 km) from Munnar

    In the morning, head to Eravikulam National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its endangered Nilgiri Tahr and stunning mountain views. Take a guided tour of the park, which includes a visit to the Anaimudi Peak, the highest peak in South India. In the afternoon, have lunch at the park cafeteria and then visit the nearby Lakkam Waterfalls. In the evening, head back to your hotel for some rest and relaxation.
