Start your day at the iconic Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. Take in the stunning architecture and learn about the history of the mosque from the knowledgeable guides. From there, head to the impressive Red Fort. Walk around the fort to see its many gates, palaces, and halls, including the stunning Diwan-i-Khas. If time permits, don't miss the Sound and Light Show in the evening.
On your second day, start with a visit to the Lotus Temple, a unique and beautiful attraction that draws visitors from all over the world. The temple is shaped like a lotus flower and is set in expansive manicured gardens. Take some time to meditate in the serene surroundings. From the temple, head to Qutub Minar, the tallest minaret in the world. The complex has a number of other historically significant structures, such as the Iron Pillar of Delhi and the Alai Darwaza.
If you have extra time, explore the markets of Chandni Chowk near Jama Masjid, or visit the India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan. For those with less time, consider skipping the Sound and Light Show at Red Fort or reducing the time spent at the attractions. Also, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water with you at all times, as Delhi can get very hot and humid.
