Start your day by exploring the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Walk around the beautiful gardens and visit the museums inside the fort to learn about Indian history.
Next, head to the Jama Masjid, a stunning mosque that can accommodate more than 25,000 people. Climb the minaret for a panoramic view of the city. Make sure to dress appropriately and remove your shoes before entering the mosque.
Start your second day at the Qutub Minar, a 73-meter-tall tower built in the early 13th century. Walk around the Qutub Complex to see various other historical monuments.
Afterward, visit Humayun's Tomb, one of the best-preserved Mughal-era buildings in Delhi dating back to 1570. The grandeur of the tomb and the colorful gardens surrounding it make it an excellent spot for photography.
On your final day in Delhi, go to the impressive Lotus Temple, a Baháʼí Temple known for its lotus-shaped structure. Spend some time meditating or admiring the gardens around the temple.
Next, head to Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi, an authentic Indian marketplace dating back to the 17th century. Explore the narrow alleys and try some delicious street food, such as parathas and jalebis, at the famous food stalls.
If you have more time, you can add some other places to your itinerary, such as Akshardham Temple, India Gate, and the National Museum. However, keep in mind that Delhi's traffic can be extreme, so allocate enough time for transportation between locations. If you have less time, you can skip certain locations or shorten your visit duration. Make sure to dress appropriately and carry water bottles and sunscreen to stay hydrated during your trip.
