Tuesday, August 22: Arrival in Jammu

Arrive in Jammu, the closest city to Vaishno Devi. Begin your trip by visiting the famous Raghunath Temple, a popular Hindu shrine. In the afternoon, explore the Bahu Fort, which offers breathtaking views of Jammu and the Tawi River. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll in the beautiful Bagh-e-Bahu Garden.

Wednesday, August 23: Katra and Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine

Head to Katra, the base camp for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, early in the morning. Trek to the sacred Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, which is situated in the Trikuta Mountains. The trek is about 14 kilometers long and takes approximately 6-8 hours to complete. Seek blessings at the shrine and spend some peaceful moments in the serene surroundings. Return to Katra in the evening.

  • Trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine: No entrance fee. Approximately 6-8 hours.
Thursday, August 24: Shivkhori and Patnitop

Embark on a day trip to Shivkhori, a holy cave dedicated to Lord Shiva. Explore the magnificent cave and witness the natural formation of the Shiva Lingam. Afterward, continue your journey to Patnitop, a picturesque hill station known for its beautiful landscapes. Enjoy a leisurely walk in the meadows, indulge in adventure activities, or simply soak in the serene ambiance.

  • Shivkhori: Entrance fee is INR 30 per person. Approximately 2 hours.
  • Patnitop: No entrance fee. Spend the entire day exploring and relaxing.
Friday, August 25: Departure

On your final day, bid farewell to Jammu and depart for your next destination.
