Useful tips

If you have more time, visit the Mukkombu dam and amusement park, the Government Museum, or the Butterfly Park. If you have less time, you can skip the Kallanai Dam or choose between the Srirangam temple and the Rock Fort temple. Pack comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunblock and a hat as the weather can be hot and humid. Try the tiruchirappalli cigar, a local delicacy made with cashews and spices, available in most local sweet shops. Avoid the peak hours of the temples to take advantage of shorter lines and lesser crowds.
