Exploring Vaishno Devi with Family

  1. Day 1: Vaishno Devi Temple
    Located in Katra, 0 km from main Katra Bus Stand

    Visit the Vaishno Devi Temple and seek blessings of Maa Vaishno Devi. The temple is one of the most visited pilgrimage destinations in India and a must-visit while exploring Vaishno Devi. You can trek or take a ponny from Katra to the Temple. It's approximately an 8 kilometers trek that can take up to 6 hours.

  2. Day 2: Bhairavnath Temple and Ardh Kuwari Cave
    Bhairavnath Temple: Open from 5 am to 9 pm. Ardh Kuwari Cave: open from 8 am to 6 pm

    Start your day by visiting the Bhairavnath Temple, located at a 2-hour trek from Vaishno Devi temple. It is said that the Vaishno Devi darshan is incomplete without visiting this temple. Later, visit the stunning Ardh Kuwari Cave which is situated halfway to the main temple on a hill. Ardh Kuwari Cave is known for the 3-day long spiritual journey of Vaishno Devi Mata. The cave is believed to be the place where she meditated for nine months.

  3. Day 3: Sanasar Lake and Nathatop
    Sanasar Lake: Open 24 hours. Nathatop: Open from 9 am to 5 pm

    On the last day of your trip, visit the beautiful Sanasar Lake, go for boating or enjoy other adventure activities such as paragliding or hot air ballooning. Have lunch by the lake and head to the Nathatop, famous for the scenic beauty it offers. Get lost in the serene surroundings and majestic views of the Himalayas.

If you have more time, you can explore Patnitop, which is located 35 km from Nathatop and popular for its picturesque surroundings and adventure activities. However, it can take up to 2-3 days to fully explore. If you have less time, you can skip Nathatop and visit Himkoti, which is located halfway between Katra and Vaishno Devi temple, and offers scenic views of snowy hills and the valley. Do wear comfortable shoes while trekking as the terrain can be challenging in certain places.
