A Day Trip to Vaishno Devi

5:00 AM: Start your journey

Begin your day by departing from your location and heading towards Vaishno Devi. The holy shrine of Vaishno Devi is located in the Trikuta Mountains in Jammu and Kashmir. It is a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus and is believed to fulfill the wishes of the devotees.

7:00 AM: Arrival in Katra

Reach Katra, which is the base camp for Vaishno Devi, and check-in to your hotel. Katra is a small town nestled in the Himalayas and serves as the starting point for the trek to the shrine. Take some rest and freshen up before you begin your journey to the holy shrine.

8:00 AM: Start the trek

Embark on a spiritual journey as you start the trek to Vaishno Devi. The trek is approximately 13 kilometers long and takes around 5-6 hours to complete. The path is well-paved and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Along the way, you will find several shops and stalls selling snacks and refreshments.

2:00 PM: Reach Vaishno Devi

Arrive at the Vaishno Devi shrine and seek the blessings of the goddess. The temple is located at an altitude of 5,200 feet and is dedicated to Mata Vaishno Devi. Spend some time in prayer and soak in the spiritual atmosphere of the place.

Reach your hotel in Katra and relax after a long day of trekking. Take a refreshing shower and enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the local restaurants. Spend the evening at leisure and prepare for your journey back home the next day.

Hidden Gems and Local Favorites

While in Katra, don't miss the opportunity to explore some off the beaten path attractions. Visit the Banganga Tank, a sacred water reservoir believed to have been created by an arrow shot by Lord Rama. It is a serene and peaceful place where you can sit and meditate. Another hidden gem is the Baba Dhansar Temple, located about 15 kilometers from Katra. It is known for its natural waterfalls and is believed to have divine powers.
