Discover Udaipur in Four Days

  1. Day 1: City Palace
    10 minutes (2.5 km) from Udaipur Bus Station

    Visit the City Palace, a spectacular white marble complex with stunning gardens, courtyards, and terraces overlooking Lake Pichola. The palace is still the residence of the royal family, and you can explore its rich history and exhibits. You can also take a boat ride on the lake to enjoy breathtaking views of the palace from the water.

  2. Day 2: Jagdish Temple and Vintage Car Museum
    15 minutes (3.4 km) from City Palace

    Start with a visit to Jagdish Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and built-in 1651. The temple's architecture includes intricate carvings, sculptures and stunning brass image of Garuda. Then move on to the Vintage Car Museum, which showcases a unique collection of vintage cars, including the 1934 Rolls Royce Phantom used in the James Bond film Octopussy.

  3. Day 3: Saheliyon Ki Bari and Monsoon Palace
    25 minutes (11.5 km) from Vintage Car Museum

    Start your day with a serene visit to Saheliyon Ki Bari, a beautiful garden enshrining fountains, lotus pools, and kiosks. It was built in the 18th century by Maharana Sangram Singh for his queen and her maids. Then proceed to the Monsoon Palace, located atop a hill offering mesmerizing panoramic views of Udaipur city. It served as a hunting lodge and monsoon retreat for the royal family.

  4. Day 4: Fateh Sagar Lake and Bagore Ki Haveli
    20 minutes (5.7 km) from Monsoon Palace

    Start your day with a visit to Fateh Sagar Lake, one of the most beautiful artificial lakes in Udaipur. You can take a boat ride and enjoy the lush greenery surrounding the lake. Then move on to Bagore Ki Haveli, a restored haveli turned museum which showcases the traditional Rajasthani culture, displays of artifacts, jewelry, costumes and paintings. Also, there's a daily cultural show at 7 PM showcasing traditional Rajasthani dance and music forms.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you can visit the Jaisamand Lake and take a guided village safari to experience the rural lifestyle of Rajasthan. Also, if you visit during winters, do not miss the Camel Fair at Pushkar. For those with less time, you could combine Saheliyon Ki Bari and Fateh Sagar Lake on one day and skip one of the two options from Day 2.
