  1. Day 1: Kashi Vishwanath Temple

  2. Day 2: Assi Ghat
    5 minutes (1.1 km) from Kashi Vishwanath Temple

    Enjoy the stunning view of the sunrise by the bank of river Ganges. This famous ghat offers great options for breakfast after the sunrise.

  3. Day 3: Sarnath
    30 minutes (11.0 km) from Assi Ghat

    Experience the rich history of Buddhism by visiting some popular Buddhist temples and museums in Sarnath. This place is the birthplace of the world-famous mantra 'Buddham Saranam Gacchami'.

  4. Day 4: Ramnagar Fort
    35 minutes (9.8 km) from Sarnath

    Experience the Ganga Aarti in the evening at the famous Dashashwamedh Ghat and then visit the Ramnagar Fort. The fort is built in red sandstone and is situated on the opposite side of the Ganges river.

  5. Day 5: Manikarnika Ghat
    10 minutes (2.8 km) from Ramnagar Fort

    End the trip by visiting one of the most interesting and unique places in Varanasi - Manikarnika Ghat, the cremation ground. It is believed that cremation at this ghat leads to Moksha, liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

Varanasi has a lot to offer, and it is impossible to cover everything in 5 days. If you have more time, you can add the following places to your itinerary: Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, Banaras Hindu University, and Alamgir Mosque. If you have less time, you can skip the Ramnagar Fort and visit other popular ghats like Dashashwamedh Ghat and Manmandir Ghat.
