Taxis are also available, but they can be costly. The city is very bike-friendly, and bike rentals are available throughout the city.

Estimated travel cost: €60 for City Card, €30-€60 for taxis if needed.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you can add a day trip to the nearby traditional Dutch villages such as Marken and Volendam. These villages offer scenic views, museums, cheese factories and clog workshops. For those that prefer a more countryside experience, taking a bike tour to the famous Dutch windmills at Kinderdijk is also a must. Alternatively, the nearby Rotterdam city offers contemporary architecture, food, & Museums.

If you have less time, you can decide to skip some less interesting locations such as Vondelpark, and spend more time in the ones that you find most interesting.

Airports

Schiphol airport (AMS) is Amsterdam's main airport, located just 15km southwest of the city centre. The airport is connected to downtown Amsterdam by various public transportation modes, including train, taxis and bus services. Taxis and car rentals are also readily available.
