Travelling Across Italy: A 6-Day Itinerary

• Day 1: Rome

  Begin your journey in Italy's capital city: Rome. Visit the Campidoglio and the Pantheon, and enjoy the famous Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps. End your day with a visit to the Trevi Fountain, which is lit up at night.

If you have less than six days, skip Cinque Terre and Naples, and add a day trip to Pisa or Verona instead.

Airports

The main airport in Italy is the Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO), which is located about 30 kilometers southwest of Rome. Another airport option is the Milan Malpensa International Airport (MXP), which is also a major hub for international flights, located about 45 kilometers from Milan's city center.
