4-Day Adventure Itinerary in Munnar - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Anamudi Peak
    30 minutes (12.6 km) from Munnar

    Anamudi Peak is the highest peak in South India, standing tall at 8,842 feet. The trek to the top of the peak is a challenging but thrilling adventure. The trail passes through lush green forests filled with exotic flora and fauna. The serene surroundings and the fresh mountain air make the trek all the more invigorating. The view of the surrounding valleys and hills from the top of the peak is breathtaking.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park
    15 minutes (8.3 km) from Munnar

    Eravikulam National Park is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The park also boasts of a large number of unique species of plants and animals. The park has a well-defined trekking route that takes you through rolling hills and picturesque landscapes. The trek is moderately challenging and can be completed in around 3 hours. Keep your cameras ready as you might spot some rare species of birds and animals along the way.

  3. Day 3: Kolukkumalai Tea Estate
    1 hour 40 minutes (35 km) from Munnar

    Kolukkumalai Tea Estate is the highest tea estate in the world. The drive to the estate is an adventure in itself, as the road is steep and winding. Once you reach the estate, you can take a guided tour and learn about the tea-making process. You can also go on a short trek to explore the surrounding hills and valleys. The view of the sunrise from the estate is spectacular.

  4. Day 4: Mattupetty Dam and Lake
    30 minutes (13.2 km) from Munnar

    Mattupetty Dam and Lake is a popular picnic spot among tourists. The lake offers boating facilities, and you can also go on a short trek to the surrounding hills. The dam is a popular spot for fishing. The surrounding hills are covered with tea plantations and offer a breathtaking view of the valley below. You can also visit the nearby dairy farm and learn about the process of milk production.
