3-Day Itinerary for Munnar in September 2023

  1. Day 1: Tea Estates and Eravikulam National Park
    20 minutes (6.5 miles) from Munnar town

    Start your day by visiting the tea estates and learn about the process of tea making. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Munnar surrounded by lush green tea gardens. After lunch, head towards Eravikulam National Park, which is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Take a guided tour to spot the wildlife and enjoy the panoramic view of the Western Ghats. Do note that the park is closed from January to March.

  2. Day 2: Mattupetty Dam and Kundala Lake
    40 minutes (15 miles) from Munnar town

    Today, visit the Mattupetty Dam and take a boat ride to enjoy the stunning views of the Western Ghats. After lunch, head towards Kundala Lake, a man-made lake surrounded by lush green forests. You can enjoy a Shikara boat ride or even go for a horse ride around the lake. Do note that horse rides are subject to availability.

  3. Day 3: Echo Point and Top Station
    1 hour (21 miles) from Munnar town

    On your last day, visit Echo Point, a scenic spot famous for its natural echo phenomenon. You can also enjoy a nature walk and bird watching in the surrounding forests. After lunch, head towards Top Station, which is located on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border and offers a stunning view of the valley below. Do note that Top Station is closed during the monsoon season from July to September.
