4-Day Itinerary for Nepal in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Kathmandu Durbar Square
    10 minutes (2.3km) from Tribhuvan International Airport

    Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as Hanuman Dhoka Square, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination in Nepal. It is a complex of palaces, courtyards, temples and shrines dating back to the 12th century. You can marvel at the exquisite architecture and artistic decorations of the palaces and temples. Some of the notable structures are Taleju Temple, Kumari Ghar, and Kasthamandap. Allow at least 2 hours for sightseeing.

  2. Day 2: Pokhara
    6 hours (200km) from Kathmandu Durbar Square

    Pokhara is a scenic city located near the Himalayas and the Phewa Lake. It is a popular base for trekkers and hikers planning to explore the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Some of the must-visit places in Pokhara are the World Peace Pagoda, Devi's Fall, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, and the International Mountain Museum. You can also enjoy boating on Phewa Lake or paragliding over the mountains. Allow at least 2 days for exploring Pokhara.

  3. Day 3: Chitwan National Park

You can take a jungle safari on an elephant or a jeep, go bird watching, or visit a Tharu village to learn about the local culture.   4. Day 4: Boudhanath Stupa

You can walk around the stupa and spin the prayer wheels, visit the nearby monasteries and temples, or shop for souvenirs at the colorful stalls.
