1 hour 14 minutes (53.5 km) from Dhanushkodi Beach

Adam's Bridge, also known as Rama Setu, is a chain of limestone shoals that connects the island of Rameshwaram to Sri Lanka. The bridge is believed to have been built by Lord Rama in the Hindu epic Ramayana. It's one of the most popular tourist attractions in Rameshwaram, and visitors can take a boat ride to see the bridge up close. The best time to visit is early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The bridge is open from 6 am to 6 pm.

  4. Day 2: Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park
    21 minutes (11.3 km) from Adam's Bridge

Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park is a protected area in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Tamil Nadu. The park is home to a diverse range of marine life, including corals, dolphins, sea turtles, and sharks. Visitors can take a boat ride through the park to see the marine life up close. There are also some great spots for snorkeling and diving. The park is open from 8 am to 5 pm.

Recommendations

Other local attractions to consider include the Ramanathaswamy Temple, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India and is known for its architectural grandeur and religious significance. Also, the Kothandaramaswamy Temple, which is located in Dhanushkodi and is considered to be one of the oldest temples in Rameshwaram.

To maximize your fun, consider taking a sunrise or sunset boat ride from Dhanushkodi to experience the beauty of the Indian Ocean. Additionally, try some of the delicious seafood available at the beach shacks in Dhanushkodi. Don't forget to carry sunscreen, a hat, and a pair of sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun.
