2-Day City Experience Itinerary for Mysore in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mysore Palace
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Mysore Zoo

    Start your day by visiting the famous Mysore Palace, which is a perfect example of Dravidian architecture. The palace is one of the most visited tourist attractions in India and is famous for its grandeur, intricate designs, and stunning architecture. You can explore the palace and its beautifully decorated rooms, and later you can head to the palace gardens for a relaxing walk. In the afternoon, you can head to the nearby markets for some souvenir shopping and grab some local cuisines. In the evening, you can go back to the palace to witness the grandeur of the palace illuminated with lights.

  2. Day 2: Chamundi Hill and Nandi Statue
    20 minutes (7.4 km) from Mysore Palace

    Start your day by visiting Chamundi Hill, which is located on the outskirts of Mysore. You can trek to the top of the hill to see the Chamundeshwari Temple, which is dedicated to Goddess Durga. You can also get a panoramic view of the city from the top. After descending the hill, head to the nearby Nandi Statue, which is a 5-meter tall statue of Nandi, Lord Shiva's vahana (vehicle). The statue is located at the entrance of the Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Mysore. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Kukkarahalli Lake and spend some time boating or relaxing in the park. In the evening, you can head back to the city and visit the St. Philomena's Church, which is one of the largest churches in India and is famous for its Neo-Gothic architecture.

You can also visit the Brindavan Gardens, which is located 25 km from Mysore and is famous for its musical fountains. For side trips, you can visit the nearby hill stations of Coorg and Ooty.
