4-Day Volunteering Itinerary in Mysore, August 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit to Mysore Palace

    In the morning, visit the magnificent Mysore Palace which is a perfect example of Dravidian architecture. The Palace has a rich history with an interesting story behind its construction. In the afternoon, you can explore the palace grounds which include beautiful gardens and fountains. In the evening, there is a sound and light show that takes place showcasing the rich history of the palace.

  2. Day 2: Volunteer at Mysore Zoo
    15 minutes (4.5 km) from Mysore Palace

    Mysore Zoo is one of the oldest and most popular zoos in India. Spend your morning volunteering at the zoo, assisting the caretakers with feeding and taking care of the animals. In the afternoon, you can explore the zoo and see some of the rare and endangered species housed there. End the day with a visit to the Karanji Lake, located within the zoo premises, which is a beautiful picnic spot and home to a variety of birds and fishes.

  3. Day 3: Volunteer at Happy Hearts Fund
    20 minutes (9.5 km) from Mysore Zoo

    Happy Hearts Fund is a non-profit organization that works towards providing education to underprivileged children in the city. Spend your day volunteering with the organization and help them make a difference in the lives of these children. In the evening, visit the famous Brindavan Gardens which are known for their stunning fountains and light and sound show.

  4. Day 4: Visit to the Chamundi Hills and Nandi Statue
    30 minutes (10 km) from Happy Hearts Fund

    In the morning, visit the Chamundi Hills which are located on the outskirts of the city. The hills offer a panoramic view of the city and are home to the famous Chamundeshwari Temple. In the afternoon, visit the Nandi Statue which is located at the foothills of the Chamundi Hills. The statue is one of the largest in the world and is considered a sacred spot. End your day with a visit to the St. Philomena's Church, a beautiful Gothic-style church located in the heart of the city.
