Relaxing 3-Day Itinerary in Munnar - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Devikulam Lake
    20 minutes (9.6 km) from Munnar town

    Start your day with a visit to the serene Devikulam Lake, surrounded by lush green hills and tea plantations. Take a stroll around the lake, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the scenic beauty. Spend the afternoon at Green Field Spices and Herbal Garden to learn about various spices and herbs grown in Munnar. In the evening, head to the Tea Museum to learn about the history of tea in the region and enjoy a cup of freshly brewed tea.

  2. Day 2: Top Station
    2 hours 20 minutes (38.5 km) from Munnar town

    Start your morning by driving to Top Station, the highest point in Munnar. It offers a panoramic view of the Western Ghats and the valley below. You can also visit the nearby Echo Point to hear your voice reverberate through the valley. Afternoon, head to Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, the highest tea plantation in the world. Take a guided tour of the plantation and enjoy a cup of tea while enjoying the scenic beauty. In the evening, drive back to Munnar and visit the Munnar Market to shop for souvenirs and local spices.

  3. Day 3: Kundala Dam
    30 minutes (13.6 km) from Munnar town

Recommendations

If you have an extra day in Munnar, consider visiting Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. You can also visit the Mattupetty Dam or Lakkam Waterfalls. For a side trip, consider visiting the nearby hill station, Kodaikanal, which is just a 4-hour drive from Munnar. Be sure to try some of the local delicacies, such as appam and stew, puttu and kadala curry, and seafood.
