3-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Mysore in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mysore Palace
    10 minutes (3 km) from Mysore Zoo

    In the morning, visit the stunning Mysore Palace, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, that showcases a blend of Hindu, Islamic, Gothic, and Rajput architectural styles. Explore its grand halls, intricate carvings, and beautiful paintings. Spend the afternoon at the Mysore Zoo, home to a variety of animals such as tigers, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. End the day with a peaceful stroll through the Brindavan Gardens and enjoy the musical fountain.

  2. Day 2: Chamundi Hill and St. Philomena's Church
    20 minutes (8 km) from Mysore Palace

    Start your day by hiking up the Chamundi Hill to see the magnificent Chamundeshwari Temple and the statue of Mahishasura, a mythological demon. The climb up may be steep but the stunning view of Mysore from the top makes it all worth it. Then, head to St. Philomena's Church, a beautiful Gothic-style cathedral that is one of the tallest churches in Asia. In the evening, explore the Devaraja Market that offers a wide variety of Mysuru silk sarees, spices, and souvenirs to take back home.

  3. Day 3: KRS Dam and Lalitha Mahal Palace
    30 minutes (16 km) from St. Philomena's Church

    On your last day, visit the Krishnarajasagara Dam, a popular picnic spot that offers a view of the serene water and the magnificent Brindavan Gardens. Later, explore the Lalitha Mahal Palace, a beautiful heritage hotel that was once the guesthouse of the royal family of Mysore. The palace boasts of a stunning architecture, beautiful gardens and a royal ambience. End your day by experiencing the local culture and cuisine at one of the many restaurants in the city.
