2-Day Mysore Nature Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Brindavan Gardens
    15 minutes (3.5 miles) from Mysore Palace

    Brindavan Gardens is a beautiful garden located at the base of Krishnaraja Sagar Dam. In the morning, enjoy a peaceful walk along the pathways and admire the well-manicured gardens and fountains. In the afternoon, rent a boat and explore the gardens from a different perspective. In the evening, don't miss the musical fountain show which features a combination of water, music, and lights.

  2. Day 2: Chamundi Hill
    20 minutes (5.5 miles) from Brindavan Gardens

    Chamundi Hill is a picturesque hill located just outside of Mysore. In the morning, hike up the hill to see the Chamundeshwari Temple and take in the breathtaking views of the city. In the afternoon, visit the Nandi statue and explore the nearby nature trails. In the evening, head back down the hill and enjoy a sunset picnic at the nearby Karanji Lake.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Mysore Zoo which is located near Chamundi Hill. Another great side trip is the Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary which is located about 30 minutes north of Mysore. To maximize your fun, consider hiring a local guide who can provide insider knowledge and tips. Don't forget to try the local cuisine which includes dosas, idlis, and vadas.
