Start your day at Shimla Ridge, a large open space in the heart of Shimla surrounded by historical buildings, restaurants and shops. Visit Christ Church, one of the oldest churches in North India, and walk through the Mall Road, the main shopping street of Shimla. In the afternoon, visit the Viceregal Lodge, a grand building that used to be the summer residence of the British Viceroys. Finish the day at Jakhoo Hill, the highest peak in Shimla, to see the sunset and admire the views.
Take a day trip to Kufri, a small hill station located near Shimla. Spend the morning at Himalayan Nature Park, a wildlife sanctuary that is home to many species of animals and birds, including the Himalayan Black Bear and the Snow Leopard. After lunch, visit Kufri Fun World, an amusement park with activities for all ages, including go-karting, bungee jumping and a haunted house. End the day with a visit to Mahasu Peak, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Head to Manali and visit Hadimba Devi Temple, a beautiful wooden temple dedicated to goddess Hadimba. The temple is surrounded by lush forests and is a popular destination among tourists. In the afternoon, visit Manali Nature Park, a park with a variety of flora and fauna, and the Manali Gompa, a colourful Buddhist monastery. End the day with a stroll through the Old Manali Market to shop for souvenirs and try local food.
Spend the day at Solang Valley, a popular destination for adventure sports such as skiing, paragliding and zorbing. Take a cable car ride to the top of the valley to enjoy the panoramic views and try some of the activities on offer. In the afternoon, visit the Nehru Kund, a natural spring that is believed to have medicinal properties. End the day at the Vashisht Hot Springs, where you can relax in the natural hot water springs.
Take a day trip to Rohtang Pass, a high mountain pass that connects Manali to the Lahaul and Spiti districts. The pass is open from May to November and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. You can also try adventure activities such as skiing and snowboarding, depending on the season. In the afternoon, visit the Rahala Falls, a beautiful waterfall located on the way to Rohtang Pass. End the day with a visit to the Manu Temple, a historical temple dedicated to sage Manu.
If you have extra time, consider visiting the Tibetan Monastery in Manali, the Kuthar Fort in Solan or taking a scenic train ride on the Kalka-Shimla Railway. To maximise your fun, try local food such as Himachali Dham or Chha Gosht, or go on a nature walk in the surrounding forests.
