3-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary to Munnar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mattupetty Dam
    20 minutes (8.5 km) from Munnar town

    Mattupetty Dam is a perfect spot for a morning picnic with family. The serene atmosphere and the tranquil waters of the dam make it a scenic location. After lunch, head to the Tea Museum. Here, you can explore the history of tea cultivation in Munnar and learn about the different types of tea. Finally, in the evening, visit the Blossom International Park for a leisurely stroll amongst the flowers.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park
    30 minutes (13.4 km) from Munnar town

    Begin your day with a visit to the Eravikulam National Park, the home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The park has a wide variety of flora and fauna which is sure to keep your family entertained. Afternoon could be spent at the Pothamedu View Point, an ideal location to witness the beautiful tea plantation and scenic hills. Finally, in the evening visit the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate for a tea tasting experience.

  3. Day 3: Attukal Waterfalls
    20 minutes (9.2 km) from Munnar town

    Start your day with a visit to Attukal Waterfalls, a serene place to relax and rejuvenate. Then, head to the Top Station, a popular viewpoint to get a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. In the afternoon, visit the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary for an exciting trek. Finally, in the evening, enjoy a Kathakali dance performance at the Punarjani Traditional Village.

If you have an extra day, visit the Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in South India. Another good idea is to visit the Cheeyappara Waterfalls, Valara Waterfalls, or the Power House Waterfalls.
