Relax and Unwind: A 4-Day Itinerary in Karnataka

  1. Day 1: Coorg
    5 hours (264 km) from Bangalore

    In the morning, visit the Namdroling Monastery, the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism outside of Tibet. In the afternoon, head to Dubare Elephant Camp to interact with elephants, bathe them and take a ride on their backs. In the evening, visit the Raja's Seat, a beautiful garden with a spectacular view of the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Hampi
    7 hours (350 km) from Coorg

    In the morning, explore the ancient ruins of Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the Virupaksha Temple, the Lotus Mahal, the Vijaya Vittala Temple and the Elephant Stables. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on the Tungabhadra River. In the evening, relax and watch the sunset at the Hemakuta Hill Temple.

  3. Day 3: Gokarna
    5.5 hours (240 km) from Hampi

    In the morning, visit the Mahabaleshwara Temple, one of the oldest temples in Gokarna dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the afternoon, relax on the pristine beaches of Gokarna such as Kudle Beach, Om Beach, and Half Moon Beach. In the evening, enjoy a beautiful sunset at Paradise Beach.

  4. Day 4: Badami
    3.5 hours (150 km) from Gokarna

    In the morning, visit the Badami Cave Temples, a complex of four Hindu temples carved out of sandstone. In the afternoon, explore the ancient ruins of the Badami Fort and the Bhutanatha Temple. In the evening, visit the Agastya Lake and enjoy a peaceful boat ride.

You may also want to consider taking a side trip to the stunning hill station of Chikmagalur or the historic city of Mysore.
