Karnataka Family-Friendly 4-Day Itinerary in May 2023

  1. Day 1: Bangalore
    30 minutes (9.1 km) from Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru

    In the morning, head to the Bannerghatta Biological Park to see the wide range of animals including Indian tigers, lions, and elephants. After lunch, visit the Lalbagh Botanical Garden, a beautiful park in the heart of Bangalore. End the day by taking a stroll down the buzzing Brigade Road where you can shop, eat, and have some fun.

  2. Day 2: Mysore
    3 hours 30 minutes (145 km) from Bangalore

    Start the day by visiting the Mysore Palace, one of the most famous tourist attractions in India. In the afternoon, head to the Brindavan Gardens, a breathtaking garden located behind the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam. End the day by visiting the Rail Museum which has an impressive collection of locomotives.

  3. Day 3: Coorg
    2 hours 30 minutes (118 km) from Mysore

    Begin the day by visiting the Namdroling Monastery, the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism outside Tibet. After lunch, visit the Abbey Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in India. End the day by strolling around the Raja's Seat, a small but beautiful garden with a stunning view of the sunset.

  4. Day 4: Hampi
    7 hours (340 km) from Coorg

    In the morning, visit the Vitthala Temple Complex, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hampi. The temple is famous for its stone chariot and musical pillars. After lunch, visit the Tungabhadra River and take a coracle ride. End the day by visiting the Anjaneya Hill, a famous temple that offers a panoramic view of the city of Hampi.

If you have more time, consider visiting the beaches of Gokarna or the ruins of Badami. Don't miss out on the delicious South Indian cuisine. Try the Masala Dosa, Vada, and Sambar. Make sure to take breaks in between the long drives to avoid fatigue and enjoy the scenic beauty of the state.
