  1. Day 1: The Charminar
15 minutes (3.5 km) from Hyderabad Railway Station

Begin your day early by visiting one of Hyderabad's most iconic landmarks, the Charminar. Built in 1591, this stunning mosque and monument was commissioned by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah to commemorate the end of a deadly plague in the city. After marvelling at the structure's intricate Islamic architecture, head to the nearby Laad Bazaar for a morning of shopping. Here, you'll find everything from traditional attire and jewellery to perfumes and antiques. In the afternoon, visit the Chowmahalla Palace, which was once the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty and is now a museum. End your day at Paradise Biryani, where you can savour one of India's most beloved dishes.

  2. Day 2: The Golconda Fort

After lunch, head to the Salar Jung Museum, which houses one of the largest collections of art and artefacts in the world. You can easily spend an entire afternoon exploring the museum's galleries and exhibits. In the evening, head to the Hussain Sagar Lake to watch the sun set and enjoy a leisurely stroll along the lake's promenade.

End your day at the Qutb Shahi Tombs, where you can explore the final resting place of the city's former rulers.
