2-Day Varanasi Cultural Immersion Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Assi Ghat
    10 minutes (3.2 km) from Varanasi Junction Railway Station

    Start your day at Assi Ghat, one of the largest and most popular ghats in Varanasi. In the morning, you can witness the daily rituals and ceremonies performed by the locals. Later, you can take a boat ride from the ghat to witness the incredible views of Varanasi from the Ganges. For lunch, head to Blue Lassi, a popular eatery known for its wide range of delicious lassis. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Tulsi Ghat and Bharat Mata Temple. In the evening, attend the Ganga aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat, which is a beautiful and spiritual experience.

  2. Day 2: Sarnath
    30 minutes (9.8 km) from Varanasi Junction Railway Station

    On the second day, visit Sarnath, which is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site located just outside of Varanasi. You can visit the Dhamekh Stupa, which is one of the most impressive structures in Sarnath, and the Archaeological Museum, which houses an impressive collection of Buddhist artifacts. For lunch, try some delicious street food at Banaras Chaat House. In the afternoon, visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, which is one of the most famous Hindu temples in India and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the evening, attend the Ganga aarti ceremony at Assi Ghat, which is a calmer and less crowded experience than the one at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
