Two-day itinerary for Munnar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Mattupetty Dam
    20 minutes (9.2 km) from Munnar town

    Morning: Visit the Mattupetty Dam, a concrete gravity dam built in the late 1940s for water conservation and hydroelectric power generation. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys.

    Afternoon: Head to the nearby Echo Point, a beautiful spot where you can hear your voice reverberate throughout the valley.

    Evening: Continue to Kundala Lake, located about 10 minutes from Echo Point. The lake offers boating and scenic walks around the shore.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park

    Morning: Visit Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, as well as other rare flora and fauna. Take a guided tour of the park and enjoy stunning views of the Western Ghats.

    Evening: End the day with a visit to the Lakkam Waterfalls, located about 30 minutes from the Tea Museum. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the waterfall and cool off with a refreshing dip.
